The kindergarten and primary school teacher training programme has been part of our school's educational offer for decades. The students who enrol here are driven by the most diverse motivations. Some want to become primary school or kindergarten teachers. Some want to be secondary school teachers. Others merely wish to gain insight into the mysteries of the pedagogical and psychological sciences, to get a taste of how to deal with children (and with people in general), which they can later put to good use as parents. And of course there are also those who "just" want to enjoy the family-like, human-centred, orderly yet cheerful atmosphere of the Pedagogical High School. The aim of the programme is to prepare kindergarten teachers and teachers working in the primary grades, and to develop their professional competencies. The training, which concludes with the baccalaureate and a professional examination, enables graduates to educate preschool-age children, support their development, and carry out the tasks of the subjects taught across the five grades of primary school.

The launch of the early childhood educator programme has been made timely by the government's intention to transfer, within a foreseeable period (2-3 years), the maintenance of nurseries from local authorities to the competence of the ministry of education, where children under the age of three will also take part in educational activities suited to their age-specific characteristics. That is, the role of the nursery is being reappraised and revalued. In addition to the traditional supervisory activity, the nursery service also takes on the task of developing abilities. For this, however, specialists are needed – many specialists! The aim of the training is to prepare early childhood (and infant) educators.

The philology programme means a class that learns through play and builds through thought. Literature is not the burden of heavy books, but a rich path of soaring arguments, rhetorical speeches, forms of self-expression, and games of self-understanding. That is why we go through the four years ahead of us with lots of drama games, theatre experiences, competitive situations, excursions, the organising of events, and many shared experiences. Humanistic culture helps you to preserve the values of your environment and to win the love of your fellow human beings.
