CARNIVAL DAY
Six classes presented their carnival performances at our school this year.

Evaluation criteria: content/message, presentation style, set, costume, carnival element, creativity/humour.

1ST PRIZE was won by grade XI.B.
Their form teacher: Tankó Kamilla. Their reward, besides the certificate, was a large cake, a gift from Dar Tours Travel Agency.
They also advanced to Legfarsang, where they received a COMMENDATION. Congratulations!
Title of their performance: Animal Big Escape. The story begins in a city zoo, where the animals escape from their monotonous daily lives to experience freedom. They reach the island of Madagascar, where colourful dances, love and lots of humour await them. King Julien and the lemurs ensure good cheer, even getting the grumpy lion to dance with their seductive moves. This is a true Madagascan story that is not only a carnival performance but also a message: freedom begins where we dare to live and be ourselves.
2ND PRIZE was won by grade X.A with their performance "Animal Big Trouble." Their reward, besides the certificate, was a class pizza from Pub For You, and they also advanced to Legfarsang, where they won 3RD PRIZE.
Brief summary: Self-fulfilment? Can you dream big and dare to fight for it in the diversity of the wide world? What if you are left alone with the voices and thoughts in your head? If no one supports you? Do you believe enough in yourself and in the world to finally find support...? The story of grade X.A answers these questions, set in a world where no one is defined by where they came from, but by what they want to become. They show that dreams are not just nice-sounding thoughts to be hidden, but with perseverance, courage and a little unity, they can truly be realised. Their form teacher: Székely Imola.
3RD PRIZE was won by grade X.B with their performance "The Witch Who Didn't Fit in the Mirror." Their reward, besides the certificate, was the pastries offered by Reyean Bakery, which they consumed on the spot. Their form teacher: Pál-Varga Ilona.
In their performance: 21 self-adoring Snow Whites, who consider themselves the most beautiful, and a witch who is not as white and not as perfect as the others. The witch does everything in her power not to seem eccentric; she wants to be as beautiful as the many Snow Whites. But the Snow Whites exclude her because of her appearance. Over time, they realise that they cannot judge others by their appearance, because true value lies within. Finally, they accept her into their community, which thus becomes a loving and united community. They learn never to judge others based on prejudice again.
Grade IX.B earned a COMMENDATION with their performance "When the Evil One Gets Hungry..." Their story begins in a completely ordinary, happy moment. Young people, music, retro clothes, carefree fun... What could go wrong? Well... when the inhabitants of the Upside Down World hear the music, they also feel: "why not take a look?" But let's not judge anyone at first glance! Because maybe the one who is scary... is just tired... or bored. Or... hungry. Their form teacher: Szász Barbara.
In the performance of grade XI.A, we witnessed the carnival skit "I came from America, my crest is partying." In their production, we see how the villagers guide a stranded foreign family in the village. The village women take charge, and this leads to a fantastic party. Thus, they see that in this world, by accepting cultural differences, life is nothing but fun. Their form teacher: Dr. Zoller Katalin.
The title of grade IX.A's show was "The Plan of the Joyful Mothers," where the wedding does not go quite as it should. Romanian and Hungarian traditions meet, but instead of peaceful celebration, a dance duel, rivalry and much drama ensues. There will be bride kidnapping, club atmosphere, jealousy and a big twist at the end. Their form teacher: Deme Ildikó.
