GÓLYAHÉT ÉS GÓLYABÁL

In the second week of the autumn school start, we put our ninth-grade students to the test. Between the competitive challenges of "who is the most skilled, most resourceful and most creative", two classes measured their strength, and in the process took the first steps towards finding each other. Our twelfth-grade students, by selecting the competition events, aimed to create memorable moments for the beginner classes and help them feel a joyful sense of belonging to our community. From 15 to 19 September, during Freshman Week, we initiated the freshmen with a rich programme. There was the making and presenting of class mascots, writing and performing class anthems, wheelbarrow racing, apple eating, putting together impromptu costumes, cooking blindfolded, and a flour game. At the Freshman Ball held at the Bujdosó restaurant, we found out that the competition between the two classes was very close, and class B emerged as the winner. Every initiation ceremony reaches its peak in moments of celebration. The Freshman Ball began with the traditional freshman dance, then, through a concentration game, the games masters selected the seven competing pairs. Our participants danced on newspaper while balancing to different songs; the boys applied lipstick on the girls in the most extraordinary way, the girls fed the boys bananas, participants recited rhymes with their mouths full of crackers for their text-deciphering partners, and performed karaoke numbers. Finally, the Freshman Queen, Pătrânjel Viktória, and the Freshman King, Kertész Hunor, were crowned. Until ten o'clock in the evening, the two year groups partied together, accompanied by dinner. A great school year, Freshmen!
